FORWARD

2Timothy 3:1-7 Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand.  For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good, traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these. For of these are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women loaded with sins, led away with different kinds of lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth.

FULL DISCERNMENT!

John 12:37-40 But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they did not believe on Him,  so that the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”  Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”

   1st THEY WOULDN’T, THEN THEY COULDN’T

Luke 3:22 And the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily shape, like a dove on Him. And a voice came from Heaven, which said, You are My Son, the Beloved; I am delighted in You.

WHY A DOVE = SENSITIVE TO SPIRIT

Luke 4:1-2 And Jesus, full of Holy Spirit, returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness  forty days, being tempted by the Devil. And in those days He ate nothing. And they being ended, He afterward was hungry.

Luke 4:13-14 And when the Devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him for a time.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee. And a report went out throughout all the neighborhood concerning Him.

      WORD GETS AROUND

Luke 4:15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
Luke 4:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And, as His custom was, He went in to the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.

      WHAT IS YOUR PATTERN?

Luke 4:17-19 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And unrolling the book, He found the place where it was written,
“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those having been crushed,  to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Acceptable=seize, now is the time to get it

Acts 1:8  But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

1Corinthians 15:33 But don’t fool yourselves. Don’t let yourselves be poisoned by this anti-resurrection loose talk. “Bad company ruins good manners.”

SOMETIMES IT’S FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND CHURCH PEOPLE!

Rom 8:11-13  It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!
Rom 8:12  So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent.
Rom 8:13  There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life.

WE HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE FLESH OR SPIRIT!

Acts 20:22  And now, behold, I am going bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall happen to me there,
Act 20:23 except that Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.
Act 20:24  But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus Christ, to testify fully the gospel of the grace of God.

Php 3:13  My brothers, I do not count myself to have taken possession, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things before,
Php 3:14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
