ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
HOW DO WE REACT TO SOMETHING NEW
WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN THAT’S NEW? Drunk in Spirit, laughing, Holy Ghost jerks, slain in the Spirit, talking in tongues, people healed, demons cast out, gold dust, feathers, glory cloud, prophecy, and everything else!
1 Corinthians 2:9-10This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine —these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers. But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things.
JUST BECAUSE WE DON’T UNDERSTAND IT DOESN’T MEAN ITS NOT GOD!
Matthew 7:1 “Refuse to be a critic full of bias toward others, and judgment will not be passed on you. For you’ll be judged by the same standard that you’ve used to judge others. The measurement you use on them will be used on you.
Act 5:34 Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while.
Act 5:38 And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;
Act 5:39 but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.”
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
1 John 2:20 But the Holy One has anointed you and you all know the truth. So I’m writing you not because you don’t know the truth, but because you do know it, and no lie belongs to the truth.
Ephesians 4:30 The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So never grieve the Spirit of God or take for granted his holy influence in your life.
Mat 12:31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
Mat 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
1John 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
Heb 6:1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
THREE BAPTISMS (1) DRY (2) WET (3) SPIRIT
(1)DRY BAPTISM BY THE SPIRIT INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST = SALVATION
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
(2)WET BAPTISM BY JOHN INTO WATER (SYMBOLIZING DEATH)
Luk 3:3, 7, 16 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
7. Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
PEOPLE WHAT SHALL WE DO
John 16 answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one who is mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Matthew 3:11 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
JOHN TRANSFERRED MANTEL OF AUTHORITY AT JESUS’ BAPTISM BECAUSE HE WAS IN LINE TO BE PRIEST
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
(3)HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM
REMINDER: WHO IS BAPTIZING AND WHAT ARE THEY BEING BAPTIZED INTO?
John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Act 1:4-5 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Act 1:6-8 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:4 On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place. Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them. They were all filled and equipped with the Holy Spirit and were inspired to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!
