New Beginnings

You have heard it said, “Good is the enemy of Great”
Israelites are a great example
Egyptians in slavery – Exodus 1:14  And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.
GOD SENDS MOSES––Exodus 3:8  So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.

GOD DELIVERS THEM WITH GREAT FAVOR – Exodus 12:36  And the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.

Crossing of Red Sea – Exodus 14:21-28
Bitter water to sweet – Exodus 15:23-25
Manna – Exodus 16:13-15 Everyday!

GOD ORDERS THEM TO GO POSSESS THE LAND  Deuteronomy 1:8 –  See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’

Deuteronomy 1:25-26  They also took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us; and they brought back word to us, saying, ‘It is a good land which the LORD our God is giving us.’   “Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the LORD your God;

A GREAT LEADER (MOSES) dies – Deuteronomy 34:5
Deuteronomy 34:7 –Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.
Deuteronomy 34:10-12 – no one has arisen since like Moses — more written about him than anyone but Jesus

ALL DIE OFF EXCEPT JOSHUA AND CALEB Num 14:30  Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.

God begins the next chapter in their history with a simple sentence
Joshua 1:2 – Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel

Joshua 1:1-4  After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying:  “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.  Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.  From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.

It was time to realize that while things had been really good, it was now time to move on!
Life is full of transitions – some of which we have control over and some of which we don’t Either way, we must realize, the past is behind us and God is calling us to move on
A good or a bad past – it is the past
Philippians  3:13-14  I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus

He has called us to arise TODAY and BEGIN FRESH!!
Isa 60:1  Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway

God desires us to walk in His best TODAY
Luke 15:22  But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet

1. Living in yesterday
2. Hanging onto things that are not of God
3. Walking in fear

Joshua 1:2-3Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, to the children of Israel.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Isa 43:18  “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.
Isa 43:19  Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
